Founded in 1986, Heritage Covenant was the first school established in Tennessee to work with and for families wishing to educate their children at home.
Tennessee has two laws which allow families to educate their own children. TCA 49-6-3050 actually codifies the term “homeschool” and places all students under the authority of the State. HCS utilizes TCA 49-50-801 which allows a “church-related school” to enroll a student and protect them from any interference by the State or local board of education.
